UPRIGHT ANGELS: The Posture Project's Community Outreach Program
The Upright Angels Outreach Program is designed to assist clients and students of The Posture Project during a time of temporary need. The goal of the program is to help our immediate community members cope and recover from an acute situation, such as surgery, illness, death, or birth in their immediate family. Volunteer activities include meal preparation and delivery, pet care, and home visitation.
Upright Angels Co-Coordinators:
Annette Branan (right) has been a member of The Posture Project since 2009. Annette has recently retired after 35 years in nursing. She is married and enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 5 year old grand-daughter. Annette and her husband Royce enjoy travelling and getting away to their mountain home. Annette is a multi-crafter and enjoys creating art quilts, knitting, jewelry making, and reading.
Marian Penn (left) and her husband Jim are relatively new members of The Posture Project. Marian retired from public school teaching (Cherokee County) in 2015 and is enjoying having more time to focus on her family, health, and fun projects. She has two college aged children, Connor and Catesby, who sometimes attend yoga classes with her. Other hobbies keeping her busy in retirement are cooking, reading, knitting, jewelry making, boating, and of course her puppies.
Both Annette and Marian look forward to giving back to our community through this outreach program. We are grateful for this opportunity to serve our friends in need.
